Oracles are individuals born with Divine Magic in Hanaq, a power so thoroughly eradicated by the Coven that most dismiss them as myth. When an Oracle casts magic, it manifests as distinctive geometric patterns that induce fear in witnesses unaccustomed to the phenomenon.

Oracles possess unique reality-altering capabilities including:

  • Healing magic that fully creates new tissue (unlike conventional magical healing which merely accelerates natural processes)
  • Prophetic visions
  • Unique personal abilities such as dream manipulation or plant growth

All Oracles share an inexplicable connection to the Holy Land - they immediately recognize these words with deep significance, and almost always experience visions or dreams of this mythical place, even if they do not actively seek it.

Oracle’s Curse

Each Oracle bears a curse that is actually a ShadowBind - however, unlike regular ShadowBinds that originate from the individual’s own psyche, Oracle ShadowBinds come from an otherworldly consciousness. This is why Oracle abilities produce fractalizing patterns - the shadow binding the magical font is not their own, but belongs to an external divine source. The Coven, one of Esperanto’s Three Pillars, actively hunts Oracles. Their systematic eradication has been so effective that knowledge of Divine Magic has largely vanished from public awareness, though new Coven initiates quickly learn the truth and pledge to continue this mission.

Abilities

Stealth Casting

Some Oracles can learn to disguise their magic by darkening the fractal patterns, making them difficult for untrained observers to identify. Civrev learned this technique from Fortuna, a Ley Line entity. However, this method proves ineffective against Coven Siblings specifically trained to detect even subtle fractalization.

Heal/Harm

These are spells that either cause a form of regeneration or necrosis in the target. Harm magic is very likely to corrupt the user

Angelic form

The Oracle’s curse comes in 4 stages, at stage 4 they enter angelic form and lose control of themselves until it ends. This can be incredibly powerful, and incredibly dangerous for everyone nearby.

The Four Divine Boundaries

Only divine magic can resurrect the dead or restore dead tissue to its original form, as it is a matter of life and death. Normal healing can speed up natural healing processes or create surrogates, but only divine can restore what was.

Only divine magic can alter time. Regular magic can perfect the perception of time such that one can view it as if it had slowed. However, ordinary magic can never turn back time or alter it entirely.

Only divine magic can enter the world of dreams, as the subconscious is only alterable when you have access to that realm beyond waking.

Only divine magic can commune with spirits or grant that communion to others, for they alone can bridge the gap between the living world and the realm of the departed.
