Master Kimo Baja is one of the most respected masters among the Wind Druids on Archibast. He earned his position through exceptional martial skill rather than noble birth, embodying the merit-based philosophy of the Wind Druid order.
Background
Kimo’s marriage to Lana Lana ended when Vida began afflicting her with a degenerative “rust” condition as revenge for the wound Kimo had inflicted on the dragon. This personal tragedy drove him to become a hermit, living on a tiny island where he would challenge passing adventurers, including Tsavo, whom he easily defeated in single combat.
Kimo’s history with Vida spans decades. During an investigation led by Captain Fritz of Shipyard 66, Kimo’s intervention resulted in the only recorded instance of anyone successfully wounding the powerful sea dragon. This achievement drew the attention of Shamesh, who subsequently “converted” Vida using a geas that restricted the dragon to consuming only one person per lunar cycle.
Years later, when Fritz returned to Archibast, Vida attempted revenge by targeting both Fritz and Kimo’s wife Lana Lana, leading to the deterioration of Kimo’s marriage and his eventual withdrawal from active Wind Druid leadership.
During Queen Mida’s tournament, Kimo emerged from his hermit existence to help combat Vida’s schemes. He demonstrated his continued martial prowess by using shadow strike techniques and working alongside the Fists of Mercy to protect the royal family during the crisis.
